Complete Privacy Guarantee

StoryFriends is designed with privacy as our top priority. Most reading data stays local on your device, and cloud-backed features are limited to the services needed to generate stories and narration.

What We Do

• Local Storage by Default: Story content, cached narration audio, and app state are stored locally using Apple’s SwiftData framework
• Selective Cloud Requests: Story generation and narration requests go through Firebase Functions and send only the content needed to fulfill those features
• Offline Playback After Caching: Once narration audio has been generated and cached locally, it can be replayed without making the same request again

What We Don’t Do

• ❌ Send more data than needed to external AI services
• ❌ Collect personal information, analytics, or usage data for advertising
• ❌ Store your cached narration audio in third-party cloud storage
• ❌ Use your account or purchase data for advertising

Data We Store Locally

• Storybooks, personas, and timestamps
• Selected AI persona and app preferences
• Cached narration audio and timing metadata for pages you read aloud

Acknowledgements

This app uses Google services for story generation and narration. Generated narration is stored locally after download so repeated playback does not require another request.
